It's truly a season of thankfulness. My little cornucopia was overflowing and still is! A huge expression of gratitude to Jean Surette and Melissa Thibodeau for the very successful Semaine Music NB Week last weekend. I'm still recovering after late nights that I didn't do in my twenties unless it was being up with an infant. A tip of the hat to Chuck Teed and the local committee in Saint John that hosted the event. Well done, folks! I want to thank Brent Mason as well who hosted our songwriter circle this year. I thoroughly enjoyed hearing my fellow artists' music in a great venue, with an appreciative crowd and our valiant host.
I've enjoyed meeting the stellar folks of St. Mary's and St. Bartholomew's church and just this past weekend the dear people of Charlotte County and community at Christ Church Anglican in Pennfield. Your hospitality and generosity were signs of a great family. Blessings to you all!
So, you may have noticed the Christmas dates are beginning to be posted to the website. I'm delighted to announce that music from this year's ECMA Award-Winning album, Old Man Winter will be shared with our faithful audiences. We'll have some surprises for you this year with a new sound and even more variety than before. Thank you for choosing to celebrate the season with us!
I will be joined this Saturday evening by a wonderful cellist, Katie Bestvater for a dinner and concert raising funds for Source Ministries. This is a new organization to me and I'm looking foward to hearing their guest speaker share about their efforts around the globe.
Please stay in touch via Facebook or drop me a note at our contact email. It's always a pleasure to hear how the music is impacting you.
Take good care and get the woolies out! It's getting nippy out there!

Feeling a bit neglected? My goodness - so sorry for neglecting to write. I guess that's what you call taking some time off or being so active you don't take time to write. All is well here. I have so much to catch you up on that I think it best to pace myself. Speaking of pacing myself, I'm attempting to run my first half marathon in a couple weeks. It's a bit nutty in that I've only trained for a 10k so perhaps I'll run half of it and have a really long cool down. I experienced an extremely full and productive month this month; truly one of the most joyous yet. Even with some challenges, I'm grateful for many things and people. My desire is to go from strength to strength and learn how to rest while still moving forward. I have a gimpy arm that's trying to keep me stuck but I'm facing forward and praying for restoration. I hope to see my physiotherapist less and less next month. To salute some amazing moments and people this summer here are some highlights: The Grasse's 50th Anniversay Ashram - new friends! Millidgeville - dear folk at St. John & Clement Edmonton - new family! What a beautiful summer! I think we struck a wonderful mix of rest, time with family and friends as well as some significant musical moments. Thank you to all who bless my life in significant ways. The fall is my favourite time of year so I'm looking forward to this one as much as ever. Thanks for sticking with me and being a part of my world. I'll write again soon! Ciao, Stephanie
Hello Dear Friends!
The month of June is my birthday month. I was born on my grandmother Grace's birthday and was named Stephanie Grace 43 years ago this month. She was a wonderfully loving lady so it is a great pleasure to remember her each year. A couple of my kids have had birthdays in the last few weeks hitting 20 and 18. Significant milestones for them both! I'm a blessed woman indeed and am amazed at how the years are adding up.
I'm tired. You? I find this month a busy one - graduations, parties, end of year recitals, weddings, you name it. It all happens or tries to take place in the month of June. I can't believe what we manage to pack in a day let alone a whole month. I've been burning the midnight oil myself with some bookings, late night conference calls and trying to get to sleep with young adults in the house that without question, stay up on a regular basis later than me. I love getting my day started early so one has to prepare.
Tomorrow morning I'm off for a nice long walk catching up with a dear friend. She inspired me to write my second album so I'm hoping I'll "walk away" inspred again. :) I've had to put my latest project on hold but trusting my next post will include how it's coming along, maybe even poised for an October release. I have a goal, I just need to be certain all is in order.
I'm moving along towards my next health goal - a 10k run. As some of you might recall, I did a full walking marathon in October 2012 so I'm going to try and train my legs to run. I've been up with the crows two mornings this week and running the "loop" near my home. I love the early morning stillness. This morning the quiet was interuppted by a coxswain spurring some early morning rowers on the Kennebecasis river. What a way to start the day! I was feeling for them.
It's a month to say good bye to old habits, school, for some of my friends - the single life, and even others to their sleep as they welcome baby 1, 2 or even 4! Moving on is good. Letting go of regret, empty relationships and our own version of control, although it is hard, can lead to the hope and future we are promised. Wherever you find yourself, I'm cheering you own from my little corner.
