The Maritime Song
There’s a river a-rushing It’s headed for the channel of a not so distant sea The banks are fruitful ground, the stream is filled with life And should we wish to swim, there’s a place of you and me
Flow Lord, make our people free Take us to Your sea Our hearts hear Your voice through the wind and the waves There’s a sound that’s calling me God of the Islands and all who smell the sea The Atlantic, you Maritimes, rise up! The Lord’s come to meet you And He’s dancing!
We thought our names forgotten Yet we knew that Your word had given us breath A place of passion Your standard we raise The nations, our roots, they course through our veins
The bridegroom’s coming our way We ready ourselves to know His embrace He’ll ride on our praise This nation is Yours, Your dominion has come You are Lord in these days
Dance Lord, rejoice over us with joy Speak Lord, summon our land with Your voice Reign Lord, open you gates and you doors Rule Lord, this land is not ours, it’s Yours

More Family Lyrics
The Maritime Song has received regular airplay as a radio single in Saint John and Moncton. Stephanie has performed this song, accompanied by a traditional dance troupe, to rousing standing ovations at conferences and at the opening of the 2005 Mercy Awards in Fredericton. At the Charlottetown Gathering in 2002, the response from the crowd of over 3,000 was so enthusiastic, they asked her to play it again. ..................................................................................................... “While we have your attention let us
recommend a new original recording called "Family" that
has just been released by Stephanie Mainville from Saint John
, - (Richard & Terry Long – Together Ministries, Toronto) ..................................................................................................... “The “opening act" was awesome as Stephanie Mainville came...playing the fiddle and singing prophetically a song over the Maritimes...when she stepped onto the platform? My, my, my...the song, the atmosphere in the room was electrifying...as the dancers came springing down the aisles. I was standing back stage thanking the Lord continually." - 2005 Mercy Awards ..................................................................................................... "It blew the socks off me!!!." - New Brunswick Gospel Music Hall of Fame board member reacting to The Maritime Song at the 2005 Mercy Awards
