"Yes
sir, Mr. Fezziwig, I'll fetch me fiddle!!"
SAINT JOHN,
NB
(November 18, 2005)
– Stephanie
returns to the stage in the Saint John Theatre Company's presentation of A Christmas Carol.
Stephanie is excited about returning to her acting roots. In the
past, she has acted in Kennebecasis Valley High School musicals as well as
touring with Theatre New
Brunswick’s Stage Mosaic.
In
A Christmas Carol,
Stephanie plays the role of "Claire" in the classic Dickens tale of the
transformation of Scrooge.
“The script is not telling a fairy tale about how a mean old man became a
good old man and everybody loves him,” Mr. McLardy says. “It’s
telling a quite serious story about how a man who has created a life for himself
that he now finds impossible to go on living manages to change. He manages
to break through that and find a way to live again.” says director Bob
Doherty.
Stephanie
appears in
just one scene and has just one line "Yes sir, Mr. Fezziwig, I'll fetch
me fiddle!!" As the
audience chuckles over her Cockney English accent, "Claire" returns
with her fiddle and plays some lively tunes that have the Fezziwig's and their
guest dancing with all of joy of the festive season.
Scrooge and the Ghost of Christmas Past look on as young Ebenezer dances
with his lovely young Belle Fezziwig and he recalls the joy he once knew as a
boy. It's a great scene and Steph
has a lot of fun playing her Covenant Award nominated River Reel and the Flowers
of Edinburgh medley for the dancers.
