Eight
For
Highly Coveted Music Showcases Country Music Week Gospel and Roots
Showcase Artists Announced Toronto,
ON – (August 16, 2006) The Canadian Country Music Association today released
the names of eight artists who have won performance slots at either the Roots or
Gospel Showcases, to be held during Country Music Week 2006, September 8-11, in
Saint John, NB. Three hail from the
East Coast area. Both showcase events
put the artists front and centre at the annual celebration of Canadian music.
Artists will perform for both the local community, plus leading national
and international entertainment industry members.
The artists were selected through a screening process using a national
jury, which began Spring of 2006. The Gospel Showcase will be
held Sunday, September 10 at the historic Imperial Theatre in downtown Country Music Week 2006
culminates with the CCMA Awards the night of September 11, featuring appearances
by Gospel
